A proposal for the new headquarters of the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) in the center of Cologne, Germany (2013). The whole project can be considered as the ultimate research on how architecture can
create surprising and moving spaces that go well beyond the different functions that were requested. The four different volumes each respond in a unique way to their challenging and layered urban context,
while maintaining a cohesive unity. By refering to the past as well as creating a new site-specific architectural language, the new publicly accessible headquarters marks a new era for the innercity of Cologne.
